"Midnight Sun," by Bob Thompson, captures a Cessna 172 resting on the float plane pond in Fairbanks, Alaska. During the Fairbanks summer, and latitudes north of there, the term Midnight Sun is not an exaggeration. In mid-summer, the sun barely dips below the horizon for about an hour at midnight, and then pops back up, so that there is really no full darkness at night.
